AUTOMATIC STUDIOS has evolved out of a desire to share our love for the collaborative process of making movies. We, the founders, are a family of directors, producers, actors and film technicians. Generations of educators, designers and storytellers make up the creative fabric of our unique teaching program designed to inspire kids to work together while learning to express themselves.



With a BFA in Film & Drama from Syracuse University, Ché began her career in New York working in Set Design for Film & TV. While earning an MA in Media Studies at The New School she worked at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan (CMOM) installing and designing exhibitions & media. She then moved to HBO where she helped create signature programming for HBO SPORTS, eventually becoming Manager of Original Programming at HBO FAMILY where she developed unique children’s TV and web programs. In 2004, after earning an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Interior Design from The Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T), she built Ché Chisholm Designs, specializing in unique and innovative projects, working with high-end commercial & residential architects and interior designers. While maintaining her freelance business, Ché has worked as a designer/event planner on numerous fundraising events for education institutions.


Peter started his film career at MTV in the late 80’s, and has worked in the Film & Television Industry for the past 25 years. In 1995, he earned a BFA in Film from Syracuse University, and promptly moved to New York City to begin his career in film and television as a Key Grip & Dolly Grip. Today, as a Camera & Steadicam Operator, Peter is called upon daily for his experienced eye. Over the past twenty years he has worked on television productions including The Big C, Gossip Girl, Royal Pains, Ugly Betty, Lipstick Jungle, Damages, Blue Bloods and the entire Law & Order series; and on a variety of film productions including Tracers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Man on a Ledge, 30 Minutes or Less, Our Idiot Brother and The Savages.


Patricia holds a BFA in Illustration and Fashion Design from Syracuse University and a MS in Museum Leadership from the Bank Street College of Education. She has also completed graduate studies in film production and museum conservation. Her career began as a fashion stylist and illustrator for magazines and film, and she was the owner of a private-label clothing design and manufacturing business for 15 years. In the1990s she shifted her career to museum leadership, and has worked in historic houses and history centers, parks (city, county, and national), children’s museums, museum associations and cultural arts institutions. In 2010 she retired from her position as executive director of the Museum of Children’s Art (MOCHA) in Oakland, California, to move back to her home in Brooklyn, NY. Currently Patricia works as a consultant advisor to not-for-profit boards and start-up arts-based business ventures.
